Who’s this for?

This tour is for the photographer looking to shoot the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta (AIBF) from a new perspective, mainly the Rio Grande. During AIBF it is common for the pilots to fly along the Rio Grande, and occasionally Splash in the River. This is an awesome sight to witness and photograph. The real trick is finding the right place to catch the action. Having operated river tours for over 5 years we have a great body of knowledge to get you to the right location, whether that is an opening in the vegetation along the river bank or a sandbar. We understand the flight paths and the local weather patterns the balloons use to fly along the river and use local resources to know which way they are flying to get you in the action.

What’s included?

Transportation to various locations along the Rio Grande, common landing zones, and lift off points. Your shuttle driver will also act as a river guide to share various access points to the river and navigation along the Bosque. Snacks and water will be include in the transport vehicle to keep you fueled all morning.

What’s not included? What should you bring?

Currently we are not supplying any photography gear, so bring your gear in a back pack. Hiking shoes, boots, or Chaco’s, the trail is single track and you will have to get wet and muddy along the way for the best shots!

Occasionally the weather is not suitable for flying and the balloons do not leave the ground. If this is the case we will book you to another day or issue a refund.
