Groms?

Grommet is frequently abbreviated to grom and refers to a young participant under the age of around 18 that participates in mountain biking.

Skills

During this 5 day clinic we will build the skills needed for successful trail riding. We will follow the BICP Level 1 & Level 2 curriculum for the fundamentals of braking and cornering to shifting, steering, and riding challenging terrain.

Fun

Riding the trails is fun, especially once you have learned some new skills. We will ride the local single track applying the newly minted skills and learn a lot more along the way in a safe and enjoyable manner.

Self Reliance

We will help build self reliance during the clinic by teaching basic bicycle maintenance that can be used at the home, shop or on the trail. We will cover lubrication, flats (tubeless workshop included) brake lever / shifter adjustments in our professional shop and along the trail.

Beginner and Intermediate Full Send Grom Camp

We are currently updating our syllabus for 2024. You can reserve your spot by clicking the “Registration” button and navigate to the Mountain Bike Instruction tab. Then head to June on the Calendar. We will have added a weekly progressive grom clamp for our intermediate riders during the month of July. This will be a great way to keep our skills sharp during the summer. Please feel free to call or email any questions you might have about this seasons camp.

We are working to add a 1/2 day of trail building / maintenance with Albuquerque Open Space to the clinic schedule to foster good stewardship practices and a sense of ownership for our trails. Please let us know if you would like to be part of that day.

Late Summer Options: We are additionally working on a ride day at Angel Fire for our students who have completed our Beginner and Intermediate Classes. If you are interested in in this please let us know.
