Intro to Mountain Biking

Join MST Adventures for an Introduction to Trail Riding Basics. This is part 2 of our introductory level mountain biking series.

Join MST Adventures for an Introductory Mountain Bike Skills Course.  In the first part of the day we will guide you through bike-handling basics: bicycle set up, bike body separation, riding stance, and body positioning while braking. We will also cover basic mechanic skills such as changing tubes or patching while on a ride. 

During the second part we use the skills from earlier to tackle basic obstacles on the trail: riding over obstacles, wheelies, weight transfer, and riding in a group. Also included are bike-body separation, eye movement and steering, gearing, and riding with confidence. 

This is a 6 hour class.

Pre-Requisite:  No prior mountain bike experience required.

Required Gear: Mountain bike with flat pedals, helmet, 2 liters of water, 1 spare tube for your tires, rain/sun protection, and weather appropriate clothing.

Recommended Gear: Small backpack, cycling repair kit (tubes/patches, pump, levers, multi-tool), riding gloves, bike shorts (padded), snacks.
